Today’s post isn’t a review, but a roundup of a few
miscellaneous items.
New
Pals
I hope you’ve noticed that we have added a couple more
pals to the stable. Welcome SingleEyePhotos (who previously reviewed for Red
Adept Reviews) and Pete Barber.
Newer
Pals?
We’d still love to have more pals. If you think you’d
be interested, send an email to BooksAndPals(at)Yahoo(dot)com and I’ll send you
a long boring email telling you all about it. If you’re a fan of hardcore
science fiction or the fantasy genre, we could especially use your help, but
there are plenty of books of all genres aching for a review.
BigAl
experiments to see how thin he can spread himself.
I’ve taken on two new projects in recent months that
might be of interest to the Books and
Pals audience. I’m hoping that spreading myself thin will make me taller
and skinnier.
The first of these projects is taking over TheIndieView, a website
founded by Simon Royle that I’ve plugged here several times in the past. Its
aim is to provide a resource for readers of indie books, indie authors, and
indie-friendly reviewers. Go poke around and, no matter which of these categories
apply to you, there should be something of interest. For fans of our author interviews
here, there are even more there, along with an occasional interview of a
reviewer.
I’ll be contributing a post each month to this site. If
you aren’t familiar with Indies Unlimited, they were one of the finalists in the 2012 Independent Book Blogger Awards, sponsored by Goodreads and
the American Association of Publishers. Readers should find plenty to interest
them, including “sneak peaks” at selected books, short stories, flash fiction
contests where you can read the stories and vote for your favorite, and other
fun stuff. Plenty of helpful content for authors as well, including writing and
promotional hints, and more. My first post went up last week.
If you aren't familiar with either of these sites check them out and if you like what you see. follow them on twitter, like them on Facebook, and all that fun stuff.

This sounds like it belongs in the romance genre! :)
Congratulations on your new "jobs," Al!
*Waves at Penny* Glad you found a new home. :-)
Not taking it easy then, Al? ;-)
I'm not familiar with Indies Unlimited -- must check it out.
Thanks Donna, I knew someone was going to comment on that term. I'm not surprised it was you. ;)
Thanks, Lynn and Vicki. Definitely not taking it easy, Vicki.
